February 4 is World Cancer Day. Around 700 million children - almost half of the world's children - breathe air polluted by tobacco smoke, particularly at home. We need to protect our children from second-hand smoke. View the Children and Second-hand Smoke Exposure fact sheet on WorldCancerCampaign.org.
March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer is one of the most easily prevented cancers because it can develop from polyps that can be removed before they become cancerous. For more information about colorectal cancer, visit the National Cancer Institute.
June 6 is the 23rd annual National Cancer Survivors Day® (NCSD). NCSD is an annual, worldwide celebration of life that is held in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Canada, and other participating countries. Participants unite in a symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality. For more information, visit the NCSD Website.
